Plebeian is one of the New York underground’s best kept secrets. Utilizing a palette of high-tech contemporary sound design, syncopated rhythms, and a through-line of dub influence, Plebeian’s music is surgically precise and delivered best on a big soundsystem. Releasing as Plebeian for the last decade, his recent output can be found on labels such as Sure Thing, Grid, and Psuedonym.
Beau Mahadev is a musician who has been based in many places including California, New York, and Hong Kong. Evoking dreamy synths, distorted vocals, and eccentric beats, their production draws from an eclectic electronic influence including darkwave, trip hop, and IDM.
Beau recently released their debut album on INDEX:Records, and their music has been featured on Nowness Asia, Eastern Margins, and the Austrian label Ashida Park.
